From Nesbyen to Nesfjella – Bring the mountain to the village

Nes village and Nesfjella are situated in the middle of Hallingdal in Norway. The area is known for its all-year-round outdoor leisure and recreational sports and events. With the initiatives from the local community, Nes is in a unique position to shape tomorrow’s mountain-, leisure and outdoor activities. Contemporary tendencies and future prognoses indicate that our working-life and lifestyle reveals fewer limitations, more flexibility, and greater freedom to seek work-life alignment between leisure and everyday life.

The vision for Nes is based on identifying, prioritizing, connecting, refining, and supplementing existing qualities. With a few clear planning principles, Nesbyen’s many existing qualities will be revealed, enhanced, and connected into a coherent community and a network of all-year-round attractions. The investment in the center re-establishes Nesbyen the natural service and experience center in Hallingdal.
