A vibrant and interactive environment that promotes social engagement

Nihti housing

The housing centers on community, reflected in diverse communal spaces thoughtfully distributed across floors and varied housing solutions. The goal is to create a vibrant, interactive environment that caters to different functions and promotes social engagement.

Innovative housing solutions address the needs of diverse groups, supported by value-adding spaces that enhance comfort and offer opportunities for communal urban living. The building combines sustainable technological, social, cultural, and environmental solutions, aiming to be a responsible, future-proof part of society.

Honoring the port history with a industrial and timeless expression

The design honors the area’s port history, with architecture that combines roughness and timeless expression. The building’s base uses local brickwork, with concrete beams and small canopies at the ground level. Metal panels are used in the tower section, varying in smooth and profiled textures. All balconies feature full-height glazing, and wood is used for protected surfaces.

Flexible layouts allow for various living arrangements

The aim is to create a positive impression at both the street level and the entrance. Entrance halls are bright and spacious, with convenient storage on the ground floor. The stairwells, opening both to the street and the courtyard, minimize the number of apartments per floor.

The housing prioritizes flexibility and addresses the needs of different households, including young families, families with children, and adult households. Larger bedrooms are provided for young families, and many apartments include storage space for strollers. Flexible layouts allow for various living arrangements, with separate entrances for certain rooms in the tower apartments for greater privacy.
