The space adapts to the artist’s evolving needs, allowing him to rearrange, reshape, and expand his workspace.
A boundaryless creative everyday
Situated in the serene nature of Inkoo, the studio home has no fixed boundaries, merging seamlessly with lake, slopes, and forest. Its modular “off-the-shelf” design can be rearranged or expanded, adapting to changing needs while remaining robust enough for work in any medium. Large sliding doors, flexible partitions, and outdoor workspaces extend the interior into the landscape, creating an intuitive, borderless creative environment.
It’s composed in balance with the landscape topography, and views and for spontaneous movement between in- and outdoor as well as indoor functions.
The studio home consists of three volumes: an Atelje/Studio with outdoor access, a central Living Room/Kitchen as the social hub, and a Bedroom & Study overlooking the lake. Built from locally sourced timber and clad in plywood — light-finished in work areas, natural in living spaces — it balances efficiency, warmth, and durability. Phased construction allows flexibility in both logistics and cost.
The Red Thread is a step-by-step masterplan for a boundaryless, flexible environment that supports daily creativity and large social gatherings.
At the heart of a long-term plan, the studio home links creativity, recreation, and social life across the site. Five landscape zones and indoor hubs form a sequence of views and gathering points from waterfront to hilltop. Modular building methods and local materials enable the place to grow organically, refining existing qualities while supporting an active, nature-connected lifestyle.
