The area’s expansion towards the sea and its ten kilometers of coastline can enhance Turku’s maritime identity. Sustainable construction and preservation of historical buildings are key, alongside promoting future maritime industry innovations. The area aims to be a center for a diverse community, focusing on accessibility and integrating nature into urban planning. Comprehensive planning and stakeholder cooperation are essential for realizing these opportunities.

The city features numerous meeting places, such as beaches, playgrounds, and spaces for work, study, and events, fostering a strong sense of community. Its maritime-inspired services, culture, and events bring people together and enhance the feeling of belonging. To improve the local environment, the existing stormwater drainage bed has been partially relocated slightly to the west. The integration of green landscapes and the stormwater pond enhances the overall quality of the surroundings, blending the parking area and halls into the open landscape.
